0 - The Ascheran race developed the cuneiform language to record their knowledge and discovered the inherent magic in all things and set about cataloguing and organizing them. This led to the development of the magical schools of knowledge, which was used by the Ascherans to develop an inferior form of the dragons magic, but powerful in it's own way.
9700 - Minithians spark a religious war with the Ceasceans causing The Great Exodus from Mesominnaea. The Ceascean people migrate northward, setting up residence in an ancient forest of old growth trees, starting the Wood Elf culture. The dragon race discovers that they had underestimated their experimental race by orders of magnitude, as unknown to the elves; they entered and assumed possession of dragon territory. Minithia moves into lands previously held by the Ceasceans, expanding their hold on Mesominnaea. Many years of tentative peace follow.
11600 - Minithians had a religious dispute with Eythetopes. Eythetopes make a pilgrimage to a more hospitable land free of persecution. Minn gains control of Eythetop lands and forms and Empire. Minithian culture created massive temples devoted to saints, Coliseums for entertainment and whole cities of marble, granite and even crystal.
The Eythetop people migrated southward, but eventually found themselves in an endless desert. With their supplies diminished, the Sun Elves feared their demise. By chance, the Eythetop people found the life-giving river moving through the desert. Legend has it that strange beings with animal heads in elaborate suits of armor, descended from the heavens in "ships from the stars" and pointed out the direction to salvation, furthering the Eythetop belief in the power of the Sun.
12500 - After several generations of living amongst the trees, some Ceasceans decide to leave, to form their own nation. They travel northward, and over a mountain range, but discover only endless tundra. With a lack of supplies, they are forced to take refuge in the mountains and eventually accept the mountains as their home. Living in the tunnels in the mountains, the shorter, genetically inferior elves had the easiest time surviving. After generations of elves getting stockier and hardier, they developed into a new race, known as Dwarves, who develop their own unique culture and lifestyle.
17200 - In an attempt to control all of Mesominnaea, the imperial armies of the Minithians strike at the Ascherans. The Ascherans respond with overwhelming force and drives the Minn advances back, and followed through pushing war into Minithia devastating the imperial army and crippling the Minn economy. Aschera gains control of the lands previously ruled by the Eythetopian people, and part of the Ceascean lands. Without a fear of attack from the mangled Minithians, Aschera was free to develop sciences, arithmetic and more magical skill. Great philosophers develop theories about almost every aspect of life; it was a high time in society. This time was known as the First or Great Enlightenment, and nearly all of the modern sciences and magical practices were discovered during this time.
21500 - Deep in the lands of the Eythetop people, Ivaekiir, the lord of all sun elves died of mysterious circumstances. His son Erekdiir, whose name translates into earth stone, ascended to the throne and ruled the Eythetop people, with less generosity and more greed; Sun Elf society was never the same, and their greatest lord was gone.
25000 - In an attempt to discover what lies across the great ocean, an early Ascheran sailing vessel was sent across the ocean with a Prince and a hundred or so High Elves but was never heard from again; no evidence remains to determine if they made it or not.
29300 - Deep in the lush jungles of the Southlands appears and evil force of inconceivable power. These creatures, who appeared to be shadow given dimensional form where known as Defilers. Pushed on by their monstrously huge and powerful master, Lifesbane, the defilers goals seemed to consist solely on the devouring of living energy. Sensing the danger, the Ascherans and Eythetopians joined forces to battle the evil in a war that would last almost and entire elven generation. Countless lives where to be lost in the struggle against the destructive powers of the defilers; cities fell one after another and a few regions where abandoned in the wake of the death and destruction.
29000 - A mysterious breed of bipeds, more robust than elves but far less agile appeared mysteriously from the south. Although they where quick to adapt and thrive the race was easily dominated by the more powerful elves. Named Humans by the elves, a condescending elven title, they where enslaved by all elven kingdoms, although they where treated most horribly by the Minithians.
29400 - Aschera, Eythetop and even Minn battle the malignant forces of Lifesbane for almost two-hundred years, slowly fighting off the army of defilers that came to this world. The war climaxed in the jungles, as the greatest mages of the Ascheran race had been fighting Lifesbane himself for over a week. The mages where weakened and Lifesbane seemed that it could fight on forever, for every death fueled his might. The situation was dire, but as the fight entered a clearing in the lush rain forest, a large obsidian monolith looking like a spear drove into the ground from the heavens was discovered. As a last ditch effort, all of the remaining mages siphoned their power into the most powerful mage, Thelognosis, who in a flashy display of conflicting power bound himself and the Defiler master into the stone itself. Legends state that the two will battle forever in the stone until the end of all existence.
Multiple generations of Elves were devastated in the battle; the civilizations would never fully recover. After the threat of Lifesbane had passed the Ascherans and the Eythetopes slowly rebuilt their societies but soon symptoms of the taint caused by Lifesbane's presence. Some of the Ascherans began to lust for blood and could not stand the sun. The Eythetopes were hit the hardest; many individuals flesh changed to black and twisted their minds to evil deeds. A small minority of Minithians, who were affected the least, started shifting forms, into different animals at night.
With the severe weakening of the Ascherans army and state as a whole, the Minn government moved on Aschera and it was unable to effectively protect itself. The remainder of the army fought to protect the High Elf civilians, but they only held the Minithian war machine back long enough to get most of the civilians out of the country. The survivors of the attack lived the rest of their days out in Eythetop. The Ascheran society was over and Mesominnaea was now completely under the control of Minns rulers.
While the warriors of the elves where fighting the forces of Lifesbane, a strange battle between two massive creatures took place in the sky, one a large dragon with multiple sets of wings, and the other a large bird, seemingly composed of magma, with wings of fire. They fought over the human cities of Minn and many humans died and cities lay in rubble from the devastating energies released in their conflict. Also at the same time that Minn was moving on Ascheran territory, every dragon on the continent was driven by some force to rise up and battle each other. The sky was filled with massive, powerful dragons battling to the death in the air above. The dragons fought amongst themselves for over a month, although the majority of the dragons were killed in the first week. After all was said and done, the dragon race was reduced to a couple dozen powerful individuals, and the historic event was titled the First Great War.
30300 - A white haired boy of half-elf origin, found by the River of Life, whose birth was prophesized by the Most Holy Book. His name was Khemesys, and as a young adult founded an underground movement of humans against the Eythetop High Lords, to fight for the freedom of the human race.
30500 - By attempting to imitate their animal headed Gods, the Gods of the Pantheon of the Sun, through the manipulation of the lycanthrope disease; the Eythetopes caused an outbreak of contagious shape shifting. At the same time as the Eythetopes where dealing with fast moving lycanthrope contagion, the dark elves, who had been hiding underground, living in catacombs and crypts for generations, made a move on the Eythetopes and remaining Ascherans. Seizing the perfect opportunity, the Human resistance led by Khemesys tired of being restricted to the lowest rung in the social standings of the sun elf society rose against their oppressive masters as well.
The humans in Minn learn of this uprising, and revolt against their masters. Slaves across the vast Minithian lands rise up and slay their owners, fleeing from the country, and start new lives in the fertile lands around the old growth forest, and so the nation states of Cessia are born.
The destruction of the Sun Elf society and subsequent lose of vast amounts of scientific and magical knowledge, coupled with the fall of the Minithians' and their stranglehold on the human race, ending the Time of the Elves.
From the ashes of the various elven societies that fell due to numerous causes, came the humans that remained after the devastation. The masses of men congregated into large camps or huddled in the ruins of elven cities until a charismatic and enigmatic group rallied the recently freed human race and gathered them to one area. Scavenging what they could form nearby Minithian ruins, and building what they needed, the nation of Tholth was founded. With the fall of the last great elven empires and the birth of Tholth began the Time of Man.
